Derby Race

Scout derby race is the best night, or so the kids say.  There is the weigh in and we had to add and subtract weights for the cars but Chris had a bucket of tool.  He was ready.  They all waited patiently for their race, what fun.

Dayne came in 2nd in tigers, Caleb 3rd for bears and Eagan was 2nd for the sibling race.

Good times by all.

Scouts Go See It

As tiger cub Dayne has to go see certain things in the community.  We visited the Clearwater/St Pete airport on wednesday with a friends den.  It was interesting and I thought the kids did well since they had not seen their buds in weeks.  They were sick.  The lady who gave us the tour was horrid to my guys.  I know it is hard to behave sometimes but see crossed the line in my eyes.  They enjoyed going in the UPS cargo plane and learned that the airport hold the largest coast guard station and is mainly a private plane airport.  That is Eagan in the cockpit, he was waving and so excited.  I hope the lady treats other large families like mine with more respect next time.

The kids had fun and that is what matters but what a day mom had.  On the way home a tourist from Wisconsin ran thru a red light on Gandy and 9th St at 50 mph how she didn't hit a single car is God's work but she stopped in the middle and everyone including us where safe.

Lazy Weekend

We were home bodies this weekend.  Ran errands on saturday morning then just stayed home until kids night out.  I made homemade banana bread and chocolate chip cookies along with chocolate oatmeal cookies(to be baked later this week in small batches).  They always give us a hard time but come home happy.  We had a nice surprise and were invited to dinner with the Plexico's, Meg and Brian.  We ate at a place called Chappy's Louisiana kitchen.  YUMMY!!  Thanks to them we enjoyed out night.  The ice cream was great too.

Sunday after church/CCD the boys painted their derby cars and banged nails in the garage.  We hung out while the kids played, rode bikes and traded pokemon.  Playing with Harley upstairs is always a fun game.

Nothing exciting but hopefully next weekend won't be as cold and windy so we can go on the boat again.  It is our favorite time together.

Felicia

Some candid photos of Felicia.

Safety first pays, even when taking a stroll with her baby.

She discovers heels.

Helping Caleb with his homework.

Tub time with Eagan.

Harley

We got the cat to help Dayne cope with the long time loss of Sam the cat.  He has always talked about him and wrote stories but the nightmares were too much.  Now that she has been here and is comfortable, she sleeps with him.  She knows he needs her and it really warmed my heart.

Valentine's Day

The day started out crabby, I mean the kids were very tired from the day before.  We had them at kids night out so Chris and I could have a lovely steak dinner at home.  It was so nice to be with each together at our own table, that was the start of Valentine's day for us.

We took then to breakfast at a new place, a buffet. So yummy!!  It got better once they eat, we can take on a buffet.  After getting home we packed up the  boat and headed out.  We took the kayak for its maiden voyage and hit the road for maximo launch.  The launch was packed, people just itching to get out like us.  We launched and drove out to Shell Key Preserve Island, not to many people and it was cloudy but who cares.

The kids played on the beach and we took a nature walk.  Science lesson built in,  talked about sea eurchins, snails, and horse shoe crabs(spider family).  The kids find it fascinating to talk about the animals.  Then I got into my kayak for the first time and loved it, thanks Santa!  Felicia had to go with me and she was so happy and quiet.  Then Eagan and Dayne, Caleb didn't want to try it.  Chris took a spin as well.  My turn was amazing, I was in the channel with 3 dolphins, 2 parents and 1 baby.  Words can't describe, they were so close.

Chris and Dayne are ending the day at the Lightning game and Caleb has his best buddy, Chase over for the night.

Lynn's Birthday

It's my birthday and Chris let me sleep in.  Felicia let him sleep in until 6:30 which is late compared to my 5:30 role call.  I got up and we found the cat and got ready for breakfast at our favorite place in Clearwater, Lenny's. Mom and Dad called from St. Marteen.

After we went to a cool park in Feather Sound that everyone enjoyed.  We walked the boardwalk, played kickball.  Well Eagan did not quite get it but it was funny.  Chris climbed to the top of the spider web with the kids and the boys took silly photos of all of us.

Chris went to get me a cake and present then he made, aso pork with garlic cheddar potatoes.  YUMMY!!!  I got 2 cakes one with 3 candles and the other had 6.  He said he didn't want to set the house on fire. HAHA.

We watched Madagascar 2 before putting the kids to bed.

Thanks for nice day.

Meet Harley

We adopted a .... cat.  Her name is Harley and she is very sweet and a little timid right now.  The kids all adore her and Boomer.  Well she took off and hid before he came into the house the first night.  We will see her in the morning.  Monday night Boomer found her and all Chris and I heard was nails on the hardwood, it was hilarious.

She has started to move around up stairs and comes down when it is quiet in the house.  Last night she sat on the chair with me and she lets the boys pet her.  Not to fond of Felicia since she grabbed her.  Eagan spends hours upstairs talking sweet to her and she even lets him carry her.  We are glad she is part of our family.

Felicia goes to a Party

Felicia has very few kids her age to hang out with because all of my current friends stopped before us.  I am getting to know some new mom's with kids her age and we got invited to a party for James.  Cupcakes at a cool new park, simple and fun, just how we like it.

Out to dinner

Most people see our family enter a resturaunt and wonder why?  Why are they eating out with that many kids... well here is the answer.  I hate figure out what to eat and Chris never lets me know until it is to late to take meat out.  So off we go to eat.  We always share meals and the kids are well behaved except loud voices once in a while.  They always bring something to entertain themselves and they love to eat.  Eagan tried salad this weekend, of course I go no where with out my camera.
